Today's reading: II Chronicles 30, 31, 32; Psalm 15, 45, 75, 105, 135; Proverbs 15

II Chronicles 30:10, "So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them."

I have been taking some photography classes here locally trying to boost my experience and skill level. We went to the county seat today to shoot pictures of the courthouse and the square. I thought it would be completely boring. Well, to my surprise there was a geranium festival going on today. This gave us a lot more subject matter.

It was a big step for me to go there and get my camera out. You would think after photographing for five (5) years or so that I would be over the "What will people say" stage and just go on and do it. It did ease things for me because there were others that went along. I did enjoy the time there and I think I took some nice pictures. I did not see any that I thought would be award winning. Such is life.

I thought about the "posts" of our text today. They went from city to city taking news. The Scriptures tell us, "but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them." How sad. This was exactly the reason that I was a little nervous about the outing today. I did not want to be ridiculed for my hobby. Actually, people were very nice and explained about each of the wares they were peddling.

How does this apply to our Christian life today? Simple, really. We are just like the "posts" of that day. We have a message that we need to get out or tell. We must not be ashamed to publish that message to this world.

So, how are you doing?
