Today's reading: Numbers 28, 29, 30; Psalm 19, 49, 79, 109, 139; Proverbs 19

Psalm 139:17-18, "How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee."

I remember reading an e-mail that made it's way around the internet a few years ago. One line of that e-mail said, "If God had a refrigerator your picture would be on it." Now, I don't think God has a refrigerator and if He did it would contain the pictures of all of His children from all of the ages. That is a humbling thought to me.

So many people today think of God a an ogre in heaven waiting to pound them with is righteous fist. This is just not true. God is righteous, holy, just and all those other attributes. He is also loving. He is very love! Nothing says, "I love you!" more than the cross where Jesus was brutally beaten, scourged and crucified for mine and your sin. As the song says, "If that isn't love...".

Consider that God thought of you when He formulated His plan for the ages. I think that as He planned how things would go He considered each individual of all the ages and He did exactly what was best for all of us. He thought of each one of us.

I love the words of the song, "He saw me in his likeness. He saw me just like Him. Pure, clean and holy spotless, white within. He saw me bound in heavy chains and longed to set me free. But He knew if I became like Him then He must become like me."

Thank you Lord for thinking about me!
