Today's reading: Genesis 7, 8, 9; Psalm 3, 33, 63, 93, 123; Proverbs 3

Genesis 7:1,5, "And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him."

As I was watching television today I came across a program called "Love Worth Finding". It is the television ministry of Dr. Adrian Rogers. His message was on faith. I like his definition of faith. It is found in an acrostic for faith. It is: F-forsaking, A - all, I - I, T - trust, H - Him. I thought this was fantastic. I wish I could come up with great things like this.

I thought it interesting that he spoke of faith and my reading was found in Genesis 7 today. Noah was a man of faith. Just the fact that God spoke to Noah is a testimony to his faith. Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Noah is a great example of this. Think of the faith that Noah had in building the ark. It had never rained. The earth was watered by a mist that came up from the ground and so rain was not needed.

Noah obeyed God by blind faith so to speak. He believed that this rain stuff was coming; whatever it was, and he had faith that God would help him build the ark. Why not? God had given him the plans to build it. You and I do not always have this luxury. It would be nice to know ahead of time what the outcome was then we might do things differently. This is not how God operates. He desires that you and I will trust Him and "Forsaking All I Trust Him". That is what He wants.

God simply wants you and I to believe Him. Take Him at His word. This why it is so important that you and I spend time every day reading the Scriptures (the Bible) and praying. When we pray we talk to God and when we read the Bible He talks to us. This is part of how we can have a vibrant relationship with Him. How is your faith today?
